Dear Master Kuo,
I hope you are doing well, and that your trip to Mexico after you left our area went very well also.
I wanted to thank you for the deep muscle massage and healing you did on my neck. To this day I have much less trouble with it, and for many days immediately after that night it felt better than it has in years. Even now it is much less noticeable than ever before. I am very grateful for the time you took to work with me to do this.
Another miraculous event in my life took place around that time you might like hearing about. I had gone to a group assembly where there was food served before a stated meeting. This was only 2 nights after the initiation ritual in David's office. The food was very good...however there were some young girls who had prepared some of it and being young and inexperienced they didn't cook it as long as it should have been cooked and I woke up the next morning very sick. It was the bad kind of sick where your stomach rolls and cramps so badly you wish you were dead. I was almost too weak to walk and was thinking I needed to find someone to take me to the hospital.
In the past when I have had really bad pain I've been able to find some relief by meditating on the pain itself, and as long as my mind was quiet the pain was something I was able to observe more than actually feel, and for brief periods this would at least help. This technique offered great help for me in the past, but before I began to try to do this in order to find a few moments of occasional relief I suddenly thought of the initiation ritual of 2 nights before, and the sutra which we are not supposed to speak aloud.
I remembered this sutra was something we could use in times of difficulty or trouble, and so I immediately began to silently quote the sutra over and over in my mind, but instead of meditating on the pain as I had done in the past, I began meditating on the Light and changed my spiritual state from being apprehensive and even fearful of the growing pain to being in a state of blissful joy while climbing higher and higher and being a part of this glorious, beautiful Light.
What happened next surprised me. The pain not only got worse very quickly, but I saw a flash of a vision of two fierce animals fighting furiously in a cage with bars, and the cage was too small for even one of them to fit in comfortably. I continued with the sutra and continued my meditation but I could feel myself and my resolve begin to weaken, and then an urgent thought came to my mind to stop doing this, but I realized it was as if the sickness was spending all of it's energy in one last great effort to bring me back down and under the control of fear and pain again.
Then suddenly...it was all quiet. I was in the Light and in joy, and I was aware that the sutra was still repeating over and over in my mind and that I had not stopped saying it. The whole event from the time I had begun saying the sutra until the pain and sickness was completely finished hadn't been more than 2 or 3 minutes in all. It's just that a lot happened very quickly in that short time.
I was immediately filled with gratitude and thankfulness for the ordeal ending, and for the sutra which helped me in a time of serious need. From the very beginning of the sickness till the very end only lasted half an hour perhaps, and when I have experienced stomach pain to that level in the past many from food poisoning many years ago the illness would last quite literally for several days. I couldn't believe this had all ended completely inside 30 minutes or so, and that from the time I began with the sutra within 3 minutes the sickness was completely gone and did not come back.
I thought you might enjoy hearing this experience Master Kuo.
It was very good to see you again, and I look forward to our next visit.
Love, Light & Joy,
~Greg
